Recap | Perth 4, Westport 1 | Perth wins the series 4-2.
Perth, Ontario – Wednesday night, the Perth Blue Wings moved onto the semi-finals with a 4-1 victory over the Westport Rideaus. Westport is eliminated from the playoffs after finishing the season with a 34-13-3-2 record and 73 points, which was second in the Richardson Division.
Perth opened the scoring in the first and continued to add on in the second period. Westport got back into the game, down 2-1 in the second but the Blue Wings scored twice more and held on in the third for the victory.
Baggio had 1G/1A while Laird also had 1G/1A in the win. Peacock made 49 saves on 50 shots.
The Rideau’s must keep their heads high going into next season. They played with one of the youngest rosters in the league and managed to fight hard. Congratulations to graduating Westport players: LD Adam James, LD Graham Sheets, F Skylar Choffe, F James Prebble and F Grant Parker on wonderful careers after they played their last game yesterday.
Recap | Renfrew 4, Carleton Place 3 – Tuesday: CP leads series 3-2.
Carleton Place, Ontario – The Renfrew Timber Wolves live another day after Bailey Hein scored the overtime winner to force a game six.
The Canadians went 2-7 on the power-play while the Timber Wolves went 2-6. Shots were 39-33 in favour of Carleton Place. Hein scored the tying goal in the third period and scored the winner in double overtime. He now has five goals and 10 points during the post season. He also led the way with four points.
Game six is Friday night at 8pm in Renfrew.
