The Jr. Canadians come into the series red hot with a 7 game winning streak with them averaging over 5 goals a game during that streak. The Timberwolves come into the series after sweeping the Athens Aeros in the Wildcard Series and will look to continue that momentum heading into this quarter finals series with the Jr. Canadians.

Season Series:

Renfrew Timberwolves 5, Carleton Place Jr. Canadians 3 – Wed, Sep 13

Renfrew Timberwolves 4, Carleton Place Jr. Canadians 2 – Sat, Jan 6

Carleton Place Jr. Canadians 8, Renfrew Timberwolves 3 – Sun, Feb 11

Carleton Place Jr. Canadians 4, Renfrew Timberwolves 2 – Fri, Feb 16

Both teams tied the season series with the Junior Canadians being able to take the last 2 games of their season with a combined 12 goals in those 2 goals. The Timberwolves will have to adjust their gameplan in order to ensure less goals be scored on them during their playoff series.

Who to Watch

The Timberwolves will have to watchout for the top line of Ryland Mosley, Reece Bolton, and Cameron Patton. Mosley and Bolton were the dynamic wingers for the Jr. Canadians occupying the 2nd and 5th best points getter in all of CCHL2 while Patton made for a great setup centre with 44 assists for the year. Good for 2nd on the team behind Mosley.

The Timberwolves will also have to face against a good goaltender in Vincent Bjould-Roux who posted a 19-7-5 record during the season while also posting a 2.17 GAA and a .926 SV%. If Renfrew wants to get goals, they will have to shoot often against Bjould-Roux and force him to move around his crease.

The Carleton Place Jr. Canadians will be on the watch out for Bailey Heinn and Andrew McIntyre during this playoff series.

Hein was picked up from the Arnprior Packers by the Timberwolves and has found his game to be much more significant for the Timberwolves. During his time with the Timberwolves, his goals went up from 9 during the midway point of the season to 22 during his time with the Timberwolves which gave him 31 goals during the season. His assists also went up from the midway point from 16 to 22 giving him a total of 38 assists. Andrew McIntyre put together a great season for himself for the Timberwolves being able to put together a season with 25 goals and 37 assists. He will also be a player that the Jr. Canadians will also look to stop in the series.

The Verdict:

The top line of Mosley, Bolton and Patton will be a key factor for the Jr. Canadians. If that line continues to produce coming off of their winning streak during the regular season, this will be a tough series for the Renfrew Timberwolves. The Timberwolves will have to shoot early and often if they want to beat the goaltending of Bjould-Roux. They will hope for Hein and McIntyre to be points producers from them during this series.
