Friday and Saturday Playoff Recaps | Westport and Alexandria each come Game 1 Victories

Ottawa, Ontario – Two games went on Friday and Saturday and it was decided in blowout victories by Westport and Alexandria.

Friday: F | Westport 7, Perth 2 | WPR lead series 1-0

Corey Symington returned to the lineup for the first time since January 28th when he faced off against Perth. It was no shame for Symington on that night. He got the first two goals of the game and his team went on to score five goals in a large margin victory in Game 1. Symington added two assists after his two goals in the first period.

Cameron Sinclair had 1 goal and 1 assist while Mchugh added 2 assists in victory. Boisclair, Prebble, Kettyle and Vincent were the other goal scorers for Westport. Perth outshot Westport 41-30. Laird and Bali had the only goals in loss. Alex Zoutis makes 39 saves in win. Game 2 goes Sunday night at 7:30pm at the Perth District & Community Arena.

Alexandria makes a statement over the Ottawa Junior Canadians with four unanswered goals between the 1st and 2nd period. Jakob Brunette scored his first career playoff Hat Trick while Kevin Howson collected 1 goal and 3 assists in a four point effort in Game 1.

Nick Andre collected 3 assists while Roth and Ivanovic each a multi points with 1 goal and 1 assist. Nicholas Rousseau made 29 saves in win. Devin Saumur had the only goal for OJC in loss. The Junior Canadians outshot the Glens 30-20 in the game. Game 2 goes tomorrow afternoon at 2:00pm at the Glengarry Sports Palace.
