With a 5-2 win over the Philadelphia Junior Flyers, Virtua Hockey's 18U team has locked in their spot at the AAHA's District Qualifier. "This was a big win for our boys" said Coach Hall. Virtua found themselves down 2-0 earlier into the game and found a way to score the next 5 goals of the game to secure the win. Ian Strasinski got Virtua on the board with just :05 seconds remaining in the period. "Ian's been playing very well over the last few weeks and I am very happy for him to get such an important goal against his former club.

In the second period, Frank Errig would even the score with a Power Play tally. The score would remain tied headed into the third period.

"I thought our team did a very good job of fighting their way back into the game after giving up two earlier on. It was critical that we held onto the momentum we gained in the second period as we went into the final 17 minutes.

Both teams know there was a lot at stake going into third period. A win for Virtua would not only secure their spot in the post season, but would also eliminate the Junior Flyers from playoff contention.

The third period would prove to be the best of the day for Virtua. Dylan Feoli would put Virtua on top 3-2 just six minutes into the third, and Max Kouznetsov would add to this lead five minutes later. To cap off the scoring, Jack Rehmann would put Virtua up 5-2 with just 1:30 left in the game.

"Between a light roster and the earlier goals against, it was great to see our players battle their way to a win today," said Coach Hall
