Congratulations are in order for the Virtua Hockey Squirt Minor team for winning the 2008 division Championship of the 2017 NHL Youth Cup, with a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory over the Buffalo Jr. Sabres.

Thomas Bowman scored the game winning goal with 3:18 remaining in OT, off a great assist from James Reilly.  The victory caps a great tournament for Virtua Hockey ‘08, as the team won all five of their games in the event, which included other NHL-affiliated organizations such as the Buffalo Jr Sabres, Carolina Jr Hurricanes, Detroit Little Caesars, NY Jr Islanders, Pittsburgh Pens Elite and the Florida Jr Panthers.  

Virtua’s Blake Zielinski was named the 2008 division tournament MVP for his outstanding efforts, as he scored 11 goals and 6 assists throughout the five game tournament.
