After a record-shattering six-goal performance in Lynn University's 10-8 win over Florida Institute of Technology, senior forward Chad Mitchell has been named East Florida Collegiate Hockey Conference Co-Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, February 5, 2017.
Mitchel's natural double hat-trick marks school records for most goals and most consecutive goals in one game.
The game proved to present both ends of the EFCFC Player of the Week award -- Florida Tech's Devin Mize shared the honor, given by Hockey Y'all magazine, for his astounding five-goal performance for the Panthers.
Both teams are in action this weekend at the EFCHC Tournament in Daytona Beach: Florida Tech battles Flagler in the first semifinal game on Friday night; Lynn University takes on Embry-Riddle in the second semifinal game. The championship and third-place games will be on Saturday night.
