Running the table with a perfect 10-0 conference record, the Lynn University ice hockey team capped off its season by capturing the 2019 East Florida Collegiate Hockey Conference championship, February 9 and 10, in Lake Worth. The title represents the first ever ice hockey conference championship in school history.

In the tournament semifinals, the Fighting Knights handled Florida Tech, 9-1, in a complete team effort. Seven different players lit the lamp for Lynn -- freshman Tommy Gramando twice, freshman Anthony Nicolia twice, and once each from senior Alex von Svoboda, freshman Olivier Groleau, grad student Turner Krechel, sophomore David Dickey, and senior Sam Morgan. Florida Tech kept the game tight through the first 20 minutes, with a Justin Tomlin goal sandwiched between two Lynn tallies. The Fighting Knights broke it open with four goals in the second, including Groleau's even-strength score with just four seconds remaining in the period. Junior netminder Aaron King and freshman Jesse Pennebaker split the time in goal, totaling 17 saves.

The Fighting Knights met its oldest rival, Flagler College, in the finals and shut out the Saints, 5-0 to take the conference title. Two first-period goals and lock-down defense sent Lynn on their way to the title. Gramando's power play goal, followed by sophomore Brad Rockey's sweet tally gave Lynn a 2-0 lead heading to the first intermission. Late second-period goals by Groleau and Gramando all but sealed the deal. Sophomore forward Nate Chapman added the final goal midway through the third period, and the defense shut down the Saints with goalie King securing the shutout win -- and the conference championship.
