KENNEWICK, WA – The United States Premier Hockey League’s (USPHL) newest member team the Tri-City Outlaws are excited to announce the signing of goaltender Shane Phillips.  Phillips, native of (Klamath Falls, OR?), is joining the 2016-17 Outlaws after playing for the Klamath Falls Ice Hawks last season.  In 25 games, Phillips posted a 11-13-0-1 record while maintaining a 2.85 GAA (Goals Against Average) for the Ice Hawks.  Phillips attended the Outlaws evaluation camp and presented a strong case for the position and was then offered a contract for the upcoming season.

“We are very excited for Shane to join our team as we have seen him at camp and also at showcases and we are very impressed with the growth that he has already shown and the potential that he has for this upcoming season,” stated Outlaws General Manager Jordan Owen.  “In getting another look at Shane this past month at our main camp we were pleased with our decision to offer a contract and can’t wait to see him in net this coming season.”

In the move up from youth hockey to the junior hockey program this is what Phillips had to say.  "I'm excited to develop my skills with the challenge of a higher level of play and I hope to make a difference with the Outlaws."

The Outlaws will report to camp on August 19th and continue practicing until the home opener in mid-September.  Look for Phillips and the rest of the Outlaws at the Toyota Arena coming soon.
