Scott Savage of the South Bay Sliders has earned the pitcher of the week award after tossing 9.2 innings and striking out three, while allowing no runs. Savage's dominant performance came on Sunday afternoon against the OC Surf when he went 8.2 innings of shutout baseball. He also added another scoreless inning against the Inland Valley Pirates. Savage (The Master's College) has cruised all season long en route to a 0.45 ERA including 20 strikeouts in his 20 innings of work for the season. Winners of their last three league contests, Savage and the Sliders will have seven league games over the next seven days to try to get right back into the thick of the playoff hunt.

Lowell Schipper of the Arroyo Seco Saints has been named the position player of the week after finishing 5-for-11 with five RBI and two doubles. Schipper has been batting at an even .300 clip for the season and even more impressively boasts a .462 OBP for the season. Schipper will be an incoming freshman at the University of Richmond in the fall. Schipper and the Saints will try to work their way up the standings with six league games to play over the next week.
