Andris Rizquez Named League MVP

Andris Rizquez (Lewis & Clark) has been awarded the inaugural Sunset League MVP. Rizquez of the OC Surf was also elected as the All-Star Game MVP earlier in July. Rizquez finished the season with 25 runs scored (2nd most in the league), 23 RBI (2nd most), four home runs (2nd most) and a .333 BA, which was good for a top 10 finish.

The Inland Valley Pirates' MVP of the season was Brennan McKenzie. McKenzie (Cal Poly Pomona) boasted a .360 BA, which was third best in the league. He added 13 RBI and 12 runs scored.

Cole Klemke (Nebraska) was elected the Solana Beach Cardinals' MVP. Klemke was a key cog in an offense that won the SBL regular season title. He finished with a .250 BA, 15 RBI and six runs scored.

The Signal Hill Oilers' MVP is Vincent Byrd Jr. (Long Beach City College). Byrd was selected by the Cincinnati Reds in the 2016 MLB Draft. He scored nine runs and added six RBI for Signal Hill.

The South Bay Sliders' MVP is Scott Savage (The Master's College). Savage got it done both on the mound and at the plate this season. He served as the ace of the staff with a microscopic 2.01 ERA, a (3-1) record and 26 strikeouts in 31.1 innings of work. He also hit .250 with five RBI and five runs scored.

The Arroyo Seco Saints' MVP is Spencer Rouse (Lafayette College). Rouse scored 14 runs and belted in 10 RBI for the season.
