Calgary Inferno Introduce 2016-17 Roster

The Calgary Inferno have an exciting 2016-17 season of special events and games upcoming. The team announced a schedule change for the opening series against the Brampton Thunder. The games, initially scheduled for the October 22 weekend, will move to the October 8 weekend. The team has also announced exhibition games on October 12 and 13, October 22 and 23, November 17, December 5 and January 30.
The Inferno will host eight promotional games during their regular season play. The following is a summary of the excitement on and off the ice this season.
October 8: The home opener on Saturday, October 8 at Winsport’s Markin MacPhail Centre(Arena A) during World Girls Hockey Weekend. This will be the first time the Inferno play a regular season game during the International event. Prior to puck drop, the Inferno will raise their first championship banner to celebrate the team’s Clarkson Cup victory over Montreal last season.
October 9: A celebration of Minor Hockey in Calgary and will feature a special announcement before the game. This will also be the first time the Inferno play at the former home of the Calgary Flames, the Stampede Corral. All minor hockey players wearing their team jersey will receive complimentary admission.
Following the game the Inferno will co-host a Fast Female Champ Chat presented by Fuelling Women Champions for girls aged 8-18 at the Boyce Theatre. Several CWHL Calgary Inferno players/Fast and Female Ambassadors will inspire and lead participants thru fun physical literacy activities, a yoga/dance party, inspirational chat/QA and an autograph session. November 12: As part of the CWHL's 10th anniversary season celebrations the Inferno will host a heritage game on Saturday, November 12 against Toronto. The Inferno will wear throwback jerseys for the game which will be auctioned off following the game.
November 17, 26 and 27: Hayley Wickenheiser’s minor hockey tournament, Wickfest, that brings teams to the city from across North America will be held over two weekends this year. The Inferno are on the road the first weekend though will host an exhibition game on Thursday, November 17 for the first week attendees and will play their regular season game, November 26 and 27, in front of the thousands of girls in town for Wickfest that weekend.
November 27: The Inferno will host a Pride game on Sunday, November 27. Calgary will wear special pride themes jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game.
January 7: The third annual Keep the Beat game will take place on Saturday, January 7 and will offer fans a chance to learn about the importance of heart health and raise awareness for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
February 4: This game will see the return of Start the Spark for Do it for Daron (D.I.F.D.) and Youth Mental Health. Prior to the game, Inferno players will work with select schools to help Start the Spark for youth mental health conversations. The team will once again wear purple jerseys that will be auctioned off and a portion of the proceeds will go to support the Sparks Mentorship program.
February 18: The final promotional game will take place on Saturday, February 18 as the Inferno host Montreal in a rematch of last years’ Clarkson Cup final. The game will be played as part of Hockey Day in Canada.

All fans who pre purchase their tickets in advance to any home game will be entered into a prize draw at every home game they attend. This includes single game or season ticket purchases made online only.
Playoff dates have also been announced. The top two teams after the regular season will host a three game series to be played Friday, February 24, Saturday, February 25 and if necessary Sunday, February 25. The Clarkson Cup final will be held in Ottawa at the home of the Ottawa Senators, the Canadian Tire Centre.
