North Allegheny outlasts Butler, 5-4

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, Cathedral Prep escaped with a 3-2 victory over Butler.
Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Jack Becker secured the win for Cathedral Prep with a goal in the third period.
Cathedral Prep was led by Becker, who had one goal. Becker scored 12:46 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Cathedral Prep. Nick Trageser provided the assist.
Others who scored for Cathedral Prep included Jack Zaphiris and Jacob Emerson, who each put in one. In addition, Cathedral Prep received assists from Joe Kelly, who had one.
Butler's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Cathedral Prep power plays.
Butler was helped by Connor Scott, who racked up one goal. Scott scored on the power play 12:06 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Butler had taken the advantage when Cathedral Prep's Emerson got sent off for cross checking. Ben Rodgers assisted on the tally. Butler also got a goal from Sam Gross as well. Other players who recorded assists for Butler were Trevor Gilliland and Clay Potochny, who contributed one each.
Jacob Kucharski rejected 27 shots on goal for Cathedral Prep. Cathedral Prep incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Zachary Schnur recorded 21 saves for Butler. Butler incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
