The Seattle Impact FC continue adding to the inaugural team’s defense by announcing the signing of Jeff Bader. Born and raised down the road in Tacoma and a former Stadium High School student and soccer player, Bader also attended Evergreen State College where he was an NAIA student-athlete. In addition to having his shot named the “Bader Blast,” Bader has no shortage of proven success in indoor soccer on his resume.

Bader played for the Tacoma Stars’ Semi-Pro and Pro teams from 2004 to 2013. During his six-year tenure with the Stars’ Semi Pro team, Bader helped the Stars win two national championships. While being a member of the Tacoma Stars Pro team from 2010 to 2013, Bader scored 15 goals, had 11 assists, and blocked 25 shots. In his most recent season of indoor soccer, Bader played for the Ontario Fury, where he scored 12 goals, assisted 6 goals, and blocked 9 shots over the course of 15 games. Bader also won the 2013-2014 Iron Man Award along with helping the Fury be named that season’s Professional Indoor Soccer All-League Best team in the Pacific Division.

Bader has acknowledged that he enjoyed the experience with the Ontario Fury last season, but he has his focus and attention on what the future holds. “I’m really excited to be back and be able to be apart of this new franchise in my backyard,” Bader said. “I had an amazing experience last year being a part of Ontario’s franchise, but it’s an exciting feeling to be back playing in front of your friends and family and representing your hometown.”

Open player tryouts and dance team auditions will be held at ShoWare Center in Kent, WA on September 6th & 7th, 2014 and require pre-registration. The team kicks off their inaugural season with a home game against the San Diego Sockers on November 8, 2014. Details can be found on the team website.
