A nine-run explosion in the seventh inning carried the Anchorage Bucs (26-18) to an 11-2 win in seven innings over the Matsu Miners (26-14) at Hermon Brothers Field on Sunday.
The Anchorage Bucs scored in the seventh on a steal of home by Dylan Butler, an RBI single by Grant Palmer, a two-run single by Palmer, an RBI double by Andy Crowley, a three-run home run by Butler, and a solo home run by Tyler Ware.
The Matsu Miners were ahead early but they ultimately surrendered the lead for good. The Matsu Miners were ahead until the seventh inning, but the Anchorage Bucs would not be denied the win, taking the lead back on a steal of home.
Butler racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Anchorage Bucs.
Trevor Lacosse baffled the Matsu Miners, striking out eight batters. Lacosse allowed no earned runs, three hits and one walk over four innings.
Blake Estep got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.
Josh Grissom ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed six runs in one-third of an inning, walked two and struck out none.
