A walk-off single from Matt Decker brought home the winning run for the Matsu Miners (25-13) in a 5-4 victory over the Chugiak Chinooks (12-25) in 10 innings at Hermon Brothers Field on Saturday.
Decker racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Matsu Miners. He singled in the fourth and tenth innings.
Jonny Locher had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth and tenth innings.
Vince Arobio improved to 2-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Matsu Miners. He allowed one run over two innings. Arobio struck out two, walked one and gave up one hit.
Tell Taylor ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
The Matsu Miners were sparked by Decker and Locher, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.
