Seattle Impact FC announces the signing of Goalkeeper Piotr “Peter” Sliwa. Soccer has been part of the lifeline of Triton College Men's head coach Piotr Sliwa since the day he was born in his native city of Debica, Poland. Sliwa's father played professionally in Poland, and it was natural that he would follow in his father's footsteps and develop a passion for the sport.
While attending Taft High School, Sliwa was an all-state player his senior year. Plus, along with his club experience at Sockers FC, he received the opportunity to play collegiately at Dominican University in River Forest, where he earned his degree in business, concentrating on finance and management, in 2008.
At Dominican, Sliwa was a four-year starter, earning all-conference honors all four years. By his senior year, Sliwa was an all-American selection. During this period, Sliwa became involved in coaching, at the time, coaching youth with the Schaumburg Soccer Club.
After college, Sliwa won a pair on National Championships for A.A.C. Eagles and Sockers FC. Sliwa also played indoor soccer professionally for the Rockford Rampage of the MISL.
