Date:  Source: National Wiffleball League

With the Rapids and Skyhawks gearing up for a one-game playoff for home-field advantage in the playoffs, here's a quick look at the past one-game playoffs in NWBL history. There have been several one-game playoffs over the past couple of years.

Rapids v. Skyhawks (2012): The Lackawanna Rapids and Highview Skyhawks both finished the regular season 18-8 and were named regular season division champions. This one-game playoff will determine who will have home-field advantage in the NWBL East Division Championship Series. Both teams split the six games they played against each other this season.

Dowling Bobcats 2-0, Wallace Warriors 1-1, Vetrone Cutters 0-2 (2011):  With one playoff spot remaining and three teams tied for it, a three-team round-robin tournament took place to find the final wildcard team. The Dowling Bobcats and Wallace Warriors each won their first games and met up in the final game to decide the final playoff team. The Cats won the playoff game, but lost in the opening round to the Capalbo Captains.

Filippone Heat 8, Vetrone Cutters 7 (2010): The Filippone Heat won their final two games of the regular season to force a one-game playoff to see who would be the final wilcard team for the playoffs. The Cutters took a 7-5 lead in extra innings before the Heat stormed back with three runs to end Vetrone's season and earn a playoff berth. The Heat would go on to upset the 31-7 Rapids and win the NWBL Championship against the Bobcats.

Dowling Bobcats 5, Wallace Warriors 3 (2010): The Warriors (now Skyhawks) and Bobcats finished atop the NWBL West Division in 2010 with identical 20-18 records. This one-game playoff determined who would take home-field advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The Bobcats won the game and eventually went to the NWBL Championship, only to lose the the Heat four games to one.
