Stags Hockey is Heading Back to Nationals!
Date: Feb 27, 2019

The Stag's Club Hockey team arrived at the end of the season with a record of 11-2-8 (wtl). They were placed in the 6th seed for Regionals, and nicknamed the "Sleeper" of the Atlantic Division.
For their first game of the Regional weekend, the Stags faced off against George Mason University. The team hit the ice hard and walked away with a 6-1 victory. Next up was California University of Pennsylvania. The team had faced Cal in the past and took home a 5-1 win against them at the beginning of the season. But, this time, with a national bid on the line, there was much more at stake. With a quick goal by Cal in the second, the Stags were down by 1.. but not for long. By the end of the second they were up 3-1, and in the third added one more for good measure. The Stags defeated Cal U 4-1 and took home their third straight national bid.
The team has been placed in pool D for the tournament and will therefore be playing games against Aquinas, Tampa, and Iowa State.
The National Tournament is being held March 14th-18th in Miami, Ohio. To help the boys make the trip, please consider donating to our GoFundMe page https://www.gofundme.com/fairfield-mens-ice-hockey.
