Spartans Sweep the Vancouver Rangers

The Spartans were in Vancouver this wekeend and posted a sweep, edging the Rangers by a single goal in all three games. Taking all six points this weekend, the Spartans are now within a single point of first place in the Northwest division.

 

Vancouver scored the first two goals of the series within the first minute of Friday’s game, but the Spartans scored the next six goals of the game to give them a four-goal lead in the third period, and they withstood a late rally by the Rangers for a 6-5 win. Newly acquired forward, Jake Eubank, scored two goals which included the game-winner, and Cameron Seto also had a pair for the Spartans. Mark Vlahovic made 40 saves for Southern Oregon.

 

The Spartans picked up another one-goal win on Saturday.  William Brunnberg’s second goal of the game was the only tally of the third period and broke a 4-4 tie. Chris Seto also scored twice for the Spartans and Vlahovic made 33 saves – including all 10 shots sent his way in the third period.

 

 

Austin Toussaint started in his second game of the season after missing 2 weeks with a leg injury. Toussaint finished with 31 saves leading the Spartans to a 2-1 victory, completing the 3 game sweep in Washington.
