The Calgary Inferno were able to defeat the first place Les Canadiennes with a 4-2 win. This game marked the first time a team was able to outshoot Les Canadiennes as the Inferno racked up 31 shots to Montreal’s 23. Rebecca Johnston and Jill Saulnier lead the way for the Inferno, registering 3 points each. Johnston opened the game with two first period goals that gave the Inferno the lead, and they never looked back. Delayne Brian made 21 saves to register the win.

For the second straight game the Calgary Inferno were able to outshoot Les Canadiennes. However, Charline Labonte was able to make 34 saves on 35 shots to hold back the Inferno offence. After a scoreless first period, Noemie Marin scored for Montreal, while in the third Katia Clement-Heydra scored the eventual winner. Marin and Clement-Heydra were the lone goal scorers for Montreal this weekend, with both players scoring once in each game. Brianne Jenner scored the lone goal for Calgary.

Game 56: Brampton Thunder (4) - Toronto Furies (3 (OT))

The Brampton Thunder needed overtime to defeat the Toronto Furies on Sunday evening. Rebecca Vint lead the way scoring a hat trick, including 2 first period goals, one on the powerplay, before scoring the game winning goal, shorthanded in overtime. Erica Howe made 38 saves for the win. The Furies forced overtime with two third period goals from Kori Cheverie but fell just short of the victory. Natalie Spooner added a pair of assists. Christina Kessler made 33 saves in the losing effort.
