The 2016 CWHL Draft is the biggest yet, with 81 draft picks from 46 different schools registered for selection this Sunday. No school is sending more players to the CWHL in 2016 than Clarkson University, with 6 of its graduating seniors including team captain Shannon MacAulay and assistant captains Olivia Howe, Renata Fast and Erin Ambrose up for selection.

Renata Fast

A long-term member of the Canadian Women’s National program, Fast, a defenceman for the Clarkson Gold Knights won a NCAA Frozen Four title in as a sophomore in 2013-14. Holder of the record for the quickest goal in NCAA Tournament History (10 seconds from puck drop) Renata is a business major and 4 time member of the ECAC All-Academic team. One of six Clarkson players eligible for the 2016 Draft, Fast’s speed on defence is matched with a scoring touch that will bolster any team’s blue line.

Shannon MacAulay

A member of the Canadian Women’s U18 team in 2011, MacAulay was the only player from Prince Edward Island on the roster for a three-game exhibit vs the United States, and represented PEI in the Canada Winter Games in 2011. In 2014, Macaulay scored the game-winning goal to help Clarkson win their first ever Frozen Four Championship. One of six Clarkson players eligible for the 2016 Draft, MacAulay’s left handed shot and goal scoring ability will be a huge addition to any team.

Erin Ambrose

A long-term member of the Canadian Women’s National Program, Ambrose, a defenceman for the Clarkson Golden Knights, won medals in the 2010 (gold), 2011 (silver), and 2012 (gold) IIHF U18 Women’s World Championships. As part of the gold medal winning team in the 2010 IIHF U18 Women’s World Championships, Ambrose had a hockey card of her featured in the Upper Deck 2010 World of Sports card series. One of six Clarkson players eligible for the 2016 Draft, Ambrose’s experience on the world stage and right handed shot will be an asset to any team.

Lauren Dahm

A goaltender out of Clarkson University’s Clarkson Golden Knights, Dahm played a pivotal role in Clarkson’s advancement to the ECAC Championship Tournament, and throughout her time there, qualified for the ECAC playoffs in all four years. She posted a .929 SV% and a 1.70 GAA in her final year and tied the Clarkson record for career wins (49) and shutouts (20). One of six Clarkson players eligible for the 2016 Draft, Dahm brings net presence that will be a vital addition to any team.

Carlee Eusepi

A defenceman out of Clarkson University’s Clarkson Golden Knights, Eusepi played a pivotal role in Clarkson’s advancement to the ECAC Championship Tournament. She served as assistant captain and was named a three time ECAC All Star. She amassed 73 career points at Clarkson, 18 goals and 55 assists. One of six Clarkson players eligible for the 2016 Draft, Eusepi is a dominant offensive defenceman who will be a strong addition to any team.

Olivia Howe

A member of the Canadian Women’s National Program, Howe, the forward for the Clarkson Golden Knights competed for Saskatchewan in the 2011 Canada Winter Games and the 2011 Esso Cup. In the 2015-16 season, Howe was presented the Ron Frazer Award for elevating her game in key situations and was a Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award Nominee. One of six Clarkson players eligible for the 2016 Draft, Howe’s proven leadership ability and willingness to elevate her game will make her a valuable addition to any team.
