MEDFORD, OR – In what started as a tightly contested game soon turned into a comfortable win for the Corvallis Knights as they managed to take game two against the Medford Rogues tonight at Harry and David Field.  The Knights rolled to a 6-1 victory win and snapped a seven game losing streak to improve to 7-13 in league play.  The loss leaves the Rogues with a 7-10 league record so far this season.

The Knights started the evening aggressively on offense and it paid off with a run in the first inning.  The Rogues were able to come back and even the score at 1-1 with a run in the second but that would be all the Rogues would put on the scoreboard for the night.  Corvallis added a run in the second and then four more in the eighth to seal the victory.

On offense, firstbaseman Chris DeVito led the Rogues with four at bats for one hit, one run, and improved his season batting average to .163.  Catcher Jimmy Wright recorded an RBI for the night from three appearances at the plate.  Wright's average for the season sits at .160.

Corvallis' pitchers managed to keep the Rogues completely at bay after the run in the second inning.  Cory Nelson pitched seven innings for the visitors giving up only three hits for one earned run while striking out one and leaves his ERA for the season at 1.93.  Nelson recorded the win while Rogues pitcher Hostert takes the loss from tonight.
