Medford, OR -  The Medford Rogues are pleased to announce they will become the 6th team committed to compete for the new summer collegiate Great West League Championship. 

“The Medford Rogues are one of the finest franchises in all of summer collegiate wood-bat baseball and we could not be happier that the Rogues will be part of the Great West League,” said Great West League President Ken Wilson.  “CSH International is a quality owner that cares about the community, and they make a wonderful partner for our league.”

The GWL begins play next June and will play a 60-game schedule.  Among the other teams in the GWL are the Chico Heat, Lodi Crushers, Marysville GoldSox, Portland Pickles and Sacramento (team to announce official name soon). 

"We are excited about the move to the GWL, we feel this is best for our business model, less travel for the players, and markets closer to Medford so we can establish closer rivals for our fans. This is a league that has superb ownership groups and baseball people running franchises which makes the Great West League very attractive for Medford", stated Gary Gelinas, president of the Rogues.

Since their inception in 2013, the Rogues have competed in the West Coast League that spans from Oregon through Washington State up to B.C. Canada.

Medford Rogues General Manager, Ian Church, is excited about the move.  “We want to do what is best for our players, our business, and most importantly our fans.  Nothing else changes for us. Our mission stays the same:  Provide affordable family entertainment and continue to be the thing to do in the summer in Southern Oregon!  Josh Hogan is still our skipper and is putting together a team that will compete for a title.  Our front office staff is still going to put on the best show in town and cater to our fans providing the best summer entertainment in the Rogue Valley.”  He adds, “As icing on the cake, we are joining Hall of Fame caliber ownership groups, alleviating wear and tear on our players, in awesome markets, all while continuing to provide a platform for our players to play against the best in the country helping to get themselves to the next level.”
