Salerno to return for 3rd Season as Head Coach

Returning for this third season as the Head Coach of the Storm, Joe Salerno has been coaching at a variety of levels for the past 10 years.  

Salerno was hired as the Head Coach and VP of Player Personnel for the Storm in August of 2011. After a rough first season which saw the Storm finish 7th in the NBL and miss the 2012  playoffs, Salerno led the Storm to an impressive 26-14 regular season record in 2012-2013 - good enough for the NBL's Atlantic division title and the number 2 overall seed in the NBL Playoffs. Salerno would lead the Storm all the way to the NBL Finals where they would eventually lose to the London Lightning. Salerno was named Coach of the Month in January 2013, as well as Head Coach of the Atlantic division All-Star team. He received the NBL's Co-Coach of the Year award along with London's Michael Ray Richardson. He currently resides in Cornwall, PEI with his wife Darci, son Camden and daughter Alexandra.

Evans returning for sophomore season
Nick EvansIsland Storm Head Coach Joe Salerno announced to press today that Nick Evans would be returning to Prince Edward Island. 

"We are excited to have Nick back for his second season. We put a lot of time and effort into Nick during his rookie year, helping him adjust to the pro-style game, and we started to see some of that pay off down the stretch. We are looking forward seeing what type of role Nick can play on this team after getting his first pro season under his belt. He is capable of being a very solid center in this league." said Salerno.
 
The 6'11", 240 lbs Evans played for Southern Illionis University and hails from Carbondale, Illionis. He played in 47 of 49 Storm games in the 2012-2013 season, and averaged 13.5 minutes and 4.7 points per game in his rookie year.  
 
Evans' free throw percentage was 77.8%, good enough to be ranked 3rd on the team. Evans had a career-high 17 points and 6 rebounds versus Montreal earlier this year in just 16 minutes of play against the Jazz.

Island Storm Season Tickets to go on sale between September 6-29

Anyone interested in purchasing Season Tickets at the Charlottetown Civic Centre for the Island Storm's inaugural season may do so exclusively between September 6th and 29th, 2013. 
 
These purchases can be made online via the Charlottetown Civic Centre,  over the phone at 902-629-6625, or in person at the Civic Centre Box Office. Located at 46 Kensington Road in Charlottetown, the Box Office operates 11am-5pm from Monday-Friday.
 
Island Storm owners also announced an exclusive renewal period for any previous Storm Season Ticket Holders. 

 

"We value the support of our season ticket holders who have supported us the past two years. Many have told us they would like to have others join them at Storm games, so to show our gratitude, we will give them exclusive access to their own seats that we have reserved, along with any other seats prior to the public sale." 

Season Ticket Holders from the 2012-2013 season will be contacted on an individual basis.
