2015 League Meeting.
Date: Jan 5, 2015
The Elmjack Dodgers and Nassau Yankees have earned the right to square off for the Single-A title next weekend, as the Dodgers swept the Bronx Titans and the Yankees held off a hard charge from the LES Knights to nail down to their first-ever championship round appearance.
After a shaky first inning on Aug. 17, the Dodgers rallied back against Titans’ starter Lenny Nieves to win the first-game of the series 16-7 . The next day, Dodgers’ hurler Robert Mongiori shut the door on the series, throwing a four-hitter to help Elmjack advance with a 6-0 win.
The Yankees road was a bit tougher, as they were forced into a third game by the Knights, but they managed to edge the LES squad in a rubber-game thriller. Trailing by four runs, the Yankees rallied back to take the deciding game 8-7.
