2015 League Meeting.
Date: Jan 5, 2015
The NY Storm and Bronx D-Backs are both headed to the NYCMBL "AA" championship series after earning series sweeps on Aug. 17.
The top-seeded Bronx D-Backs have run through the Bronx/Manhattan division in the postseason, winning all six playoff games to this point. On Saturday, D-Backs' ace Victor Padilla and Game 2 starter Enmanuel Baldera managed to stymie the bats of the New York Express, allowing just two runs over 14 innings of play.
The NY Storm have had something of a tougher road to the finals.
Seeded eighth in the Brooklyn/Queens division, the Storm upset the top-seeded Baisley Pirates and second-seeded NYC Mud Hens to reach the conference finals against the BQE. With solid performances from starters Terrell Wilson and Mike Pena, they beat the BQE 4-1 and 2-1 to advance to their first-ever championship appearance.
In the Single-A division, the Elmjack Dodgers scored a 16-7 win over the Titans, while the Yankees and Knights split a double header. Both series will be decided on Aug. 18.
