Former Big 10 Star Signs with Storm

The Ottawa SkyHawks have added an important piece to their coaching staff by bringing in CIS champion and Carleton University alumni Jafeth Maseruka.
Jafeth is a well-respected basketball expert with extensive knowledge of winning strategies. His proficiency in athletics and local know-how makes him a vital part of the Ottawa SkyHawks team.
Growing up in the Ottawa basketball scene, Jafeth has experienced great success at high school and university level. As a teenager, he played for Coach Andy Waterman at St. Pat’s High School and was selected to play for the elite club, the Ottawa Guardsmen…where he won Provincial Championships at the Juvenile and Junior levels. Jafeth was also a member of the Ontario Provincial Team.
He then went on to Carleton University where he played for the coach Dave Smart and was granted responsibility as the leader on an off the court, becoming the national champion’s captain. During that time, he won various awards including two-time All Canadian, 4 time OUA All-Star, and OUA Player of the Year. Jafeth then left Carleton with an undergraduate degree in Law.
After winning CIS championships at Carleton University, he went on to play professional basketball internationally in Iceland and Qatar. Throughout his playing career, Jafeth was constantly developing younger players and has been a Coach with the Ottawa Guardsman Basketball Club since 1999. He retired as a player and returned to Carleton University as an Assistant Coach for the Men’s Basketball Team.
As a key member of the Coaching staff at the Ottawa SkyHawks Basketball Club, Jafeth brings his extensive experience to work with key players both on and off the court.
