Former Big 10 Star Signs with Storm
Date: Sep 27, 2013
(TORONTO, ON) The NBL Canada’s Board of Governors has decided it is in the best interests of the League for the Montreal Jazz to sit out the 2013/2014 season.
Several potential ownership groups had expressed interest in purchasing the Jazz from the league, but renovations scheduled for this winter at the Pierre Charbonneau Centre complicated matters.
“We think it’s best for the image of our League, and the safety of our fans that this is the best decision,” stated NBL Canada President & CEO, Andre Levingston.
“Management at the Pierre Charbonneau Centre has been extremely professional, and good to the Jazz and NBL Canada. Montreal is a very important market to our League, and we look forward to the Jazz playing in the 2014-15 season.”
