2015 League Meeting.
Date: Jan 5, 2015
The NYCMBL is excited to announce that the first ever NYCMBL 4th of July Tournament will take place this summer, from July 5-7.
The tournament, which is open only to registered NYCMBL players, will take place at Randall’s Island, Taft HS and Roberto Clemente State Park, with the semifinal and championship rounds to be held on July 7 at Clemente. Teams will be competing for a cash payout and a trophy, and all players will receive a commemorative t-shirt.
There will be tables set up for concessions, and other vendors, such as bat companies, will be located at Clemente as well.
Half of your teammates will be away for the holiday weekend? Don’t worry! This is the perfect opportunity to join forces with your division rivals! Mix-and-match as you try to create your very own all-star team. After all, who hasn’t wanted to see how a lineup featuring Pisani, Howard and Bohn would fare against a pitching staff of Padilla, Wood and Ryan Smith?? Of course the cash prize is an incentive, but who doesn’t want to be on the team that takes home the Metro League’s first-ever tournament trophy?
The 4th of July Tournament will be a wonderful, competitive time, a chance to get on the field without worrying about divisional races and simply play the greatest sport in the world in a playoff atmosphere.
Entry fees for teams who sign up before June 10 will be $1,100 dollars. After June 10, the cost will be $1,300. Fees cover baseballs, ump fees, the cash prize and t-shirts. All teams are guaranteed to play at least three 7-inning games.
So get a team together, sign up quick and get ready for some fireworks!
