Baseball Ontario Announces Senior Elims Umpire Team

Last night at the Baseball Ontario Level 4/5 Umpire's Banquet, Baseball Ontario Supervisor of Umpires Ed Quinlan, announced the umpire contingent that will supervise and work the 2013 Ontario Senior Elimination Tournament in August.

Rob Companion and Jim Cressman will be supervising the tournament.

Companion is the current Supervisor of Umpires for the LDBA. He has had success at every level of national tournaments in Baseball Canada.  Most recently, Rob was the Supervisor of Umpires for the 2012 Baseball Canada Bantam Championships in Vaughan, ON.  Rob is a Level 5 umpire who is eligible for international assignment.

A former Minor League Baseball and Olympic Games umpire, Jim Cressman has done it all in amateur baseball.  Cressman is currently celebrating his 50th season of umpiring and will join Rob Companion as Supervisor for the 2013 Ontario Senior Elimination Tournament.  Following the Eliminations, Cressman will head down the 401 to supervise the 2013 Baseball Canada Senior Championships in Windsor.

Joining Companion and Cressman will be four provincially assigned Level 4 umpires... Corey Dalton, Oshawa; Adam DeCaire, Mississauga; Guario Laverty, Toronto' and Eldon Dunseith, Strathroy.

Rounding out the Level 4/5 umpires who will be working the Senior Elimination Tournament are Don Gilbert, Windsor; Csaba Vegh, Toronto; Allyn Ward, Listowel, and Justin Snively, Dan Mudry, Adam Poirier, and Shawn Taylor all from London. They will be joined by the top Level 3 umpires in the area in what is sure to be an exciting and well officiated tournament.
