Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League, announce that former Jr. K-Wings defenseman Alex Brooks, who now plays from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, has been named First Team All Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and Honorable Mention All-Northern Collegiate Hockey Associate (NCHA).

Brooks, the Grand Rapids, MI native, skated 21 games with the Jr. K-Wings in the 2011/12 season. He recorded 8 points (3 goals, 5 assists), and a +8 rating. 

This season with the Pointers, Alex played in all 25 games. He recorded 14 points (4 goals, 10 assists) and a was +13 on the season. 

Brooks is teammates on University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with fellow former Jr. K-Wing Drew Graves.

UW-Stevens Point finished the season 14-10-1.

The Jr. K-Wings will take the ice again on Saturday, March 2nd, as they take on the Soo Eagles at 2 p.m. Kalamazoo, MI.
