Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League, announce that forward Nick Kovalchik has committed to Castleton State College (NCAA Division III).

A two-year veteran of the Jr. K-Wings Kovalchik will join fellow Jr. K-Wing Danny Hamburg at Castleton. Kovalchik was a hard working and steady contributor for the Jr. K-Wings during both seasons. While his goal numbers dropped from 10 to 6 during the 2012-13 campaign, his assist numbers remained constant at 9 a season.

Castleton State College is located in the hills of Vermont and competes in the North Atlantic Conference. The 2012-13 season came to a close with a conference record of 9-8-1 and an overall record of 15-10-2 leaving them in the middle of the pack. Despite it not being the best of years the program has built momentum over the last several years. The 2010-11 campaign finished with an overall record of 22-4-1 and a very impressive 11-0-0 road record. The following year the Spartans were ranked as high as No.3 in the nation.
