Rainmen Flood Out Mill Rats

(Saint John, NB): The Saint John Mill Rats presented by Rogers, were flooded out by the Halifax Rainmen on Thursday evening at Harbour Station with a final score of 102-89. 

 

The Mill Rats dominated in the first quarter after a set of threes from Jerice Crouch, closing the quarter ahead 25-18, but in the second, the Rainmen battled back to catch up with the Mill Rats, tying the game at half, 48-48. 

 

Halifax proved they wanted the ball more in the third quarter, outscoring the Mill Rats 32-17. The Rainmen closed the third ahead by 15 points, 80-65. 

 

The Mill Rats opened the last quarter with momentum closing the point gap to within 10 points, but could not make their efforts count. A couple of three pointers and a bucket from Joe Posey in the final minutes, helped the Mill Rats but came too late. 

 

The Rainmen took a win tonight at Harbour Station, 102-89. 

 

Leading scorers for the Mill Rats were Jerice Crouch, Anthony Anderson and Joe Posey all with 14 points each. The Rainmen were led by Cedric Moodie who netted 20 points, Quinnel Brown with 19, and Hillary Haley with 15. 

 

The Mill Rats fall to 11-12 on the season while the Rainmen jump to 11-12. 

 

The Mill Rats are back next week with some double header action! 

 

On Thursday night, Jan. 17th, the Mill Rats host the Summerside Storm at 7pm. KVHS and Moncton High School will also be playing a regular season high school game at 4pm. Upperbowl student tickets are available with a valid student ID for only $5.25 plus the box office fee. 

 

The Mill Rats host the Oshawa Power on Friday, Jan. 18th at 7pm. The game theme is School Spirit night and student tickets are also being offered for the upperbowl with a valid student ID for only $5.25 plus the box office fee. 

 

Tickets are available at the Harbour Station Box Office or at the Mill Rats Fan Zone located in Brunswick Square. 

 

Pro-rated season ticket packages, BOGO's, flex packs and more are still available at the Mill Rats Fan Zone located in Brunswick Square on the second level, or at the Harbour Station Box Office.
