In the thick of the final week and a half of the 2025 HCBL regular season, three student-athletes were noticed for their efforts on the diamond in Week 5.

Patrick Gozdan (West Chester) of the Southampton Breakers and Andrew Grenert (Pima CC) were the Pepsi Co-Players of the Week, while Dylan Joseph (RIT) was named the ACE Hardware Pitcher of the Week.

Gozdan hit .357 for the Breakers in Week 5 with a home run and seven RBI for Southampton. On July 13th against Westhampton, Gozdan had a pair of hits with a home run and four RBI. On June 16th against South Shore, Gozdan went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI in a 4-0 Southampton win.

Grenert hit .600 for Westhampton during Week 5. His best effort of the week came on July 10th against the Sag Harbor Whalers, where the Scottsdale, AZ native was 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored in the Aviators' 8-7 victory.

Joseph went on the mound twice in Week 5 for Shelter Island. On July 10th against Southampton, Joseph pitched five shutout innings, allowing just three hits with eight strikeouts and three walks, getting a no-decision. In his second appearance on July 16th against Westhampton, Joseph again pitched five shutout innings, allowing just three hits with six strikeouts and a walk, earning the win as the Bucks beat the Aviators 11-0.

The HCBL weekly awards are voted on by the league’s six head coaches each weekend.
