The Blues suffered a shutout loss on Tuesday night, losing 5-0 to the Ocean State Waves at Old Mountain Field.

James Gilleran (Stonehill) made his second start of the year, going just two innings with an earned run and three strikeouts. Gilleran would be given the loss on the night. Coach Gregg Hunt then turned the ball over to Vincent Spizzoucco (Portal), who went four innings with four strikeouts. Spizzoucco only gave up one run in his outing. Nick Kane (Sacred Heart), Thomas Galusha (UConn), and Will Burns (Harvard) combined for the final three innings of the game, allowing three runs in total.

Sam Seidel gave the Waves the early lead in the second inning with a sacrifice fly, putting Ocean State up 1-0. In the bottom of the fifth, Seidel came around to score thanks to an RBI double from Ryan Gerety.

Leading 2-0 entering the seventh inning, the Waves would put the game out of reach. Coen Niclai came through with an RBI single, which was followed by a run-scoring wild pitch and an RBI putout to make it 5-0 Ocean State. Despite scoring no runs, Jaime Palmese (East Tennessee) and Mika Petersen (Brown) each had multi-hit games for Bristol.

The Blues dropped to 14-9 on the year, trailing the Newport Gulls (16-7) by two games for the top spot in the South Division. Bristol's next match will be at Muzzy Field on Wednesday night, where they will host the Mystic Schooners (9-12). First pitch will be at 6:30.
