Date:  Source: Ocean State Waves

College baseball is heating up and this week we’re highlighting two players who delivered exceptional performances. Our Players of the Week are sophomore Cameron Papetti and freshman pitcher Cooper Maher.

Our Hitter of the Week is sophomore Cameron Papetti from Bryant University who contributed significantly to the Bulldog’s three-game series sweep against Scared Heart. Papetti had a season high two hits and two assists in the Bulldogs game on Saturday. Across the series, the catcher also recorded two RBIs, two runs scored, a triple and a home run, contributing to Bryant’s scoring significantly. Across the three-game series, Papetti had a .375 batting average.

On the mound, earning Pitcher of the Week is freshman Cooper Maher from Northeastern University. The Westerly, R.I., native pitched four innings in the Huskies game against Brown University last week. Maher allowed just two hits and zero earned runs across the four innings. He also recorded four strikeouts which contributed to Northeastern’s 7-3 win.

These players are already making their mark at their colleges in New England this season. Their impressive early performances show the talent they will bring to the Ocean State this summer! For real-time updates on current and former Waves, be sure to follow us on Instagram and X @OceanStateWaves.
