Okanagan College wins CCWS over Thompson Rivers University

The Coyotes in 2024 won the regular season with a 21-10 record making that 5 seasons of 20+ wins in a row. With a tough extra innings loss in the bottom of the 13th in the Canadian College World Series final set, the Coyotes are looking to get back to the championship game in 2025.
"It was a tough loss, however it was a fantastic season, with lots of great moments," says Head Coach Geoff White. "We have a large returning group in 2025 that hasn't forgot either."
Teagan Ribbink (RHP, Kelowna, BC) and Corey Lawson (RHP, Calgary, AB) will be two seniors to lead the Coyotes pitching staff. Ribbink was a first team All conference selection going 5-0 and leading the conference in K's. Lawson was 2nd on the team in innings pitched picking up 3 wins with a 4.27 ERA.
"We have high expectations for these two to set the standard for the pitching staff this year, both are experienced and have been in big moments for us." adds White. "We have a really talented group of pitchers this year."
At the plate a pair of returning sophomores in Coleman Kawaguchi (INF, Squamish, BC) and Jack Swinton (INF, Victoria, BC) will supply some experience and success from 2024. Both were named to the 2nd All conference team as freshman and both hit .338 in 2024. Senior outfielder Ethan Skiffington (OF, Squamish, BC) will also be another experienced bat that will be relied upon, he his .318 in 2024.
"We have some experienced hitters that have had some success in the conference and know what to expect. They have continued to work since May 2024 to improve, and this fall it showed." says White. "There are some other returning players and freshman that will be looked upon to step up."
The Coyotes had a busy fall that included their annual trip to Nevada and California where they compete against NCAA Division 1 teams. The opening weekend of the CCBC is May 21-22-23 where they will host the Victoria Golden Tide
