Oilers grab one against Chinooks

There is under a week of regular season Alaska Baseball League play remaining. With the first, second, and third place standings still looking like a toss up, it seems that the Oilers are a sure in for fourth place, with the Chinooks right behind them in fifth. This was emphasized on Thursday with the Oilers beating the Chinooks 5 to 4. It was a 1 to 1 game through 5 innings. Both teams matched each other run for run for the next couple innings, tacking on 2 in the 6th, and 1 more in the 7th. The Oilers broke the tie in the 8th inning and hung on to win 5 to 4. Michael Kelly had a 3 hit game for the Chinooks and Nick Costello had a 3 hit game for the Oilers. The Chinooks and Oilers will play again on Friday.
