Glacier Pilots fall to Oilers AGAIN
Garrett W. Gagnon
Friday, July 21
In back to back games on Thursday and Friday, the Peninsula Oilers have defeated the Anchorage Glacier Pilots. With the last place Chinooks being just 4.5 games out of first place, every single game means so much at this point in the season. Following this second straight loss, the Glacier Pilots are now locked in a three way tie for first place with the Miners and Bucs. The Glacier Pilots made 3 errors in the field on Friday behind starting pitcher Cole Clark. Clark did not allow a single earned run, but the Oilers scored 5 off of him during his 5 inning outing thanks to the poor defense behind him. An unfortunate result for the Los Angeles right hander as he only allowed 3 hits but was charged with the loss. The 4 game weekend series continues on Saturday for the Oilers and Glacier Pilots. Anchorage will be doing everything in their power to force a series split.
