The Peninsula Oilers beat the Anchorage Glacier Pilots 4 to 1 on Thursday, disrupting the Glacier Pilots hunt for first place. Both teams made 1 defend error in the field and went almost hit for hit with each other. The Oilers whacked one less, 7 hits to the Glacier Pilots’ 8. But the Oilers were able to capitalize in big spots and came out on top. The Oilers are now just 4 games out of first place with a 12-16 record. The Glacier Pilots and Miners have identical records of 17-13 as they stare first place down. The Bucs, though they have 3 more losses in the loss column, sit in first place at 18-16. The Glacier Pilots hope to not drop games like this one moving forward in this pivotal point of the season.
