Date: Sep 30, 2025
There's never a dull moment for Team Pennsylvania. On Wednesday night, the boys secured their second straight victory in a 4-3 barnburner against the Connecticut Jr. Rangers.
Team PA built an early lead with a pair of first period goals from Tyler Smith and Cooper Hackett. Liam Sinha and Tommy Goebel recorded assists on the first period tallies.
In the second period, Asher Clements scored a shorthanded goal from Eli Baugh to extend the Pennsylvania lead to 3-0. The Jr. Rangers started mounting their comeback soon after as they got one back to shrink the lead to 3-1 for Team PA after 2 periods. In the third period, the Jr. Rangers scored two more times to even the game and sent it to overtime.
In the first overtime, with the teams battling at 3-on-3, no one was able break the deadlock and the game headed to a 2-on-2 double overtime. In double overtime is where Asher Clements made a defensive play to gain the puck in his own defensive zone and carried it all the way to the opponent's net to pot the game-winning goal. Clements's second goal of the game sealed the victory for Team PA. Max Gowdy was also outstanding in net as he was credited with 39 saves in the win.

"What a great win for the group! It was a great team effort," said Coach Edwards after the game.
"Max Gowdy was great in net and wow what a save in double OT! Asher Clements is one of those heart and soul, two-way kids that brings a great attitude everyday. It was amazing for him to seize that moment giving an extra defensive effort to stop a chance at one end and out will his way do the net at the other.
We look forward to another great game tomorrow against a hungry Manitoba squad!"
Team Pennsylvania's next game will take place on Thursday, July 6th at 3:50 PM MT against the Manitoba Junior Ice.
