Team PA Forces Overtime with Two Goal Third Period, Falls to Manitoba

Date:  Source: Team Pennsylvania

The second day at the 2024 BRICK Tournament saw Team Pennsylvania match up with the Manitoba Junior Ice. Despite two goals in the first period for Manitoba, Team PA stuck with it and scored two goals in the third period to send this one to overtime.

Hank Coffield and Mason Webb scored their goals in quick succession - less than 2 minutes between the tallies - to storm back. Evan Gardner registered an assist on each of the goals.

In overtime, however, the unpredicitibilty of the open ice led to the game winning goal coming off the stick of a Manitoba player in double overtime. Austin Kaufman was solid in net, making 17 saves and keeping his team in the game all the way through regulation.

"We came out a bit nervous today and really struggled to make enough plays to gain momentum in the game," said coach Edwards after the game. "I'm proud of our effort to fight back and force overtime.   Hopefully we can build off the 3rd period and get off to a better start tomorrow."

The next game for Team Pennsylvania will be against the hometown Team Brick Alberta playing in their home city. Good luck to Team PA tomorrow and for the rest of the tournament!
