The 2022 Sunflower Collegiate League season has come to an end, with the final push at the NBC World Series culminating its finality. 

The Haysville Aviators and Hutchinson Monarchs each advanced to the single-elimination quarterfinal round of the event, with the Cheney Diamond Dogs winning its opener before dropping a pair of games. 

Haysville and Hutchinson each won two of its first three games, but the Aviators ran into the previously unbeaten Liberal (Kan.) BeeJays and fell 6-1. 

The Monarchs were then tripped up in a heartbreaking outing that lasted 14 innings, with the Seattle (Wash.) Studs pulling out a 2-1 pitcher's duel. 

The Santa Barbara (Calif.) Foresters routed the Hays (Kan.) Larks 12-1 on Saturday night (Aug. 6) to win the NBC World Series title.
