NBC World Series: Monarchs blank OKC D-BAT 10-0

WICHITA, Kan. -- The Hutchinson Monarchs shined in a 10-0 rout of OKC D-BAT at the NBC World Series yesterday (Aug. 1) at Eck Stadium on the campus of Wichita State University. 

The Monarchs wasted no time in taking charge, scoring four runs in the first inning and then four more in the third frame. 

A two-run sixth inning then closed out the win for the Monarchs via the run rule. 

Ryan Henderson doubled and drove in three runs, while Alex Birge, Sawyer Thornhill and Hunter Autrey each had two hits for the Monarchs. 

Hutchinson starter Dakota Palmer was electric, shutting out OKC D-BAT over six innings with six strikeouts and just one walk and three hits allowed. 

The Monarchs are now 2-1 overall at the NBC World Series.
