Beckstein wins Futures League Manager of the Year!
Date: Aug 27, 2025
On Wednesday the Winnipesaukee Muskrats (5-3) were on the road as they would make the short trip to see their Granite State rival Keene Swamp Bats (2-5)(NH) to try and extend their winning streak to 4 games. The starting pitcher for the Muskrats was Ryan Fischer ( 5 IP 6 H 1
ER4 SO) from the New Jersey Inst. of Tech. Fischer looked great in his first pitching appearance of the 2021 NECBL season. Unfortunately the Muskrats would fall by a score of 5-2 in Keene. The only scoring that would be done for the Muskrats would be two solo home runs one by right fielder Jake LaPrairie and center fielder Josh Rodriquez. The defense of the Muskrats would have another strong performance making sure they made the right plays and helping their pitchers out. After a three run seventh inning for Keene, Trevor Kirk ( 1.1 IP 0 H 0 ER 3 SO) the third pitcher of the game for the Muskrats would have another strong pitching performance for the team in his fourth appearance of the 2021 season out of the bullpen. So far he is showing manager Richard Cesca why he can trust him out of that bullpen for Winnipesaukee, but it was not enough as the offense could not get anything else going after the two home runs. The Muskrats scored two runs on six hits with zero errors. The Muskrats fall to 5-4 on the season as they look to rebound tomorrow night on the road for their second meeting against the Vermont Mountaineers of the season with first pitch scheduled for 6:30p.m.
