The Winnipesaukee Muskrats on Sunday hosted the Sanford Mainers(ME).The Muskrats looked to have a perfect 3-0 homestand after two great victories in the first two games. The starting pitcher for the Muskrats was Bryan Pazulski(3 IP 5 H 2 ER) from the University of New Haven. The Muskrats had their biggest crowd of the 2021 season so far with an attendance of 326 people who came to root for their Muskrats. They did not disappoint the home crowd. The Muskrats offense would score early in this game with two runs in the third inning to tie the game at 2 thanks to some heads up baserunning by Kohl Abrams and Ben Kailher when Kailher stole second the Sanford catcher threw to second and Abrams who was at third would head home and would score. Will Vergantino, who had a great homestand, would bring in Kailher with a single to tie the game at 2 after three innings.The Muskrats would score another run in the fourth with some aggressive baserunning with a double steal which lead to a throwing error by the catcher that would allow Adam Juran to head home and score. The Muskrats forced the Sanford defense into throwing the ball and thats what lead them to success in this game. Muskrats going into this game with aggressive baserunning as they try and steal bases several times in each game and that did not stop in this one. In a tie ballgame 3-3 in the bottom half of the eight the Muskrats would score 3 runs which gave them the lead for good as Kohl Abrams hit an rbi single followed by a Josh Rodriquez two run single. The Muskrats bullpen was amazing keeping the game close and allowed the Muskrats to get the win as Scott Meylan ( 1 IP 0 H 0 ER 1SO) would get the win as Reese Sharp ( 1 IP 2 H 1 ER 1 SO) would get the save as the Muskrats improved to 5-3 on the season with a 3-0 homestand.
