THE MUSKRATS DO IT AGAIN WITH SOME COMEBACK MAGIC!

Date:  Source: NECBL : Winnipesaukee Muskrats

On Friday night your Winnipesaukee Muskrats hosted the Vermont Mountaineers(VT) looking to improve to 4-3 on the season after an incredible comeback on Thursday night. The starting pitcher for the Muskrats was Geoff Mosseau (3 IP 5 H 5 ER). For the second straight night the Muskrats had to overcome a seven run deficit. The Mountaineers struck early with a six run second inning. The Muskrats offense would struggle up until the sixth inning when the game would have a whole different feeling. A Cole Johnson solo home run in the sixth inning would give the Muskrats some momentum for the rest of the night. The Muskrats would follow the home run in the next inning with a five run seventh inning thanks to Kevin Catrine, Nick Marrero, Jake LaPrairie, and Josh Rodriquez all bringing in runs in that inning as the Muskrats batted 8 hitters in. After seven innings it was only an 8-7 game for Vermont where they were up 8-1 at one point. The fans who were cheering all night long became even louder when the Muskrats got back into the game. The game would get tied 8-8 thanks to Nick Marrero who had a great game going 2 for 4 at the plate. Fans started getting flashbacks to just one night ago with a big comeback victory when they trailed big in that game as well. Sure enough in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday’s hero Will Vergantino who has gotten familiar with big game moments at the end of games puts the ball in play for a walk off sacrifice fly as Vergantino got his second walk off hit in back to back nights as the Muskrats won 9-8 to improve to 4-3 on the year and get above .500 after what is now a two game winning streak.
