NEWPORT, RI – The Newport Gulls are proud to recognize one of their own, as former Gull Luke Beckstein has been named the 2025 Futures League Manager of the Year for his outstanding work leading the Worcester Bravehearts.

Beckstein, who was with Newport during the 2022 and 2023 season as a player and 2024 season as a coach, has quickly made his mark in the coaching ranks. In his first season managing Worcester, he guided the Bravehearts to one of the league’s top records, earning respect for his leadership, player development, and ability to get the most out of his roster.

During his time in Newport, Beckstein was known for his hard work, versatility, and team-first mentality—traits that have clearly carried over into his coaching career. His success in Worcester is another shining example of the Gulls’ tradition of developing not only talented players, but also future leaders in the game of baseball.

Beckstein becomes one of the few former Gulls to earn a Manager of the Year honor, adding to the program’s proud legacy of success both on and off the field.
