SPEARFISH, S.D. -- The Sasquatch were able to rally and pull within four runs, but the Spuds came out on top, 17-12.

Hitting was not an issue for the Sasquatch tonight, with Ray Lazono having a three-hit, two-RBI night, and Parker adding in two hits, an RBI and two runs of his own. Newcomer Nicky Winterstein (University of Toledo) came up big in his debut with two hits and four RBIs, ultimately claiming the Player of the Game honors.

The next few innings proved to be a back and forth battle between the squads as the Spuds runs in the fourth and sixth inning, while the Sasquatch added four runs and two runs in response in the bottom of the same innings, bringing the score to 14-9.

However, as the game drew to its final stages, the Spuds offensive frenzy never hit an end as they tallied three more runs, while the Sasquatch only mustered up just three over the course of the next two innings. The effort proved to be too little too late as the Spuds even the series.

The Spuds were off to a hot start tonight as they put up 10 runs over the first three innings. The Sasquatch eventually responded with an RBI single from Ben Parker in the bottom of the third inning to take the goose egg off the board. Parker later scored from second after two errors by the spuds, closing the gap at 10-2. Their offensive push was cut short, however, after posting just one more run in the inning via a sacrifice fly from Ryan Bachman.

Despite the loss,, the Sasquatch are 11-4 on the season, and sit in second place in the Clark Division.

The two teams will face-off again at 4:30 p.m. tomorrow night inside Black Hills Energy Stadium.
