On Sunday (6/6) your Muskrats hosted Upper Valley (VT) in a double header which resulted in 0-11 and 2-3 losses. In game one, Upper Valley came in swinging the bats early on the Muskrats starting pitcher Bryan Pazulski and continued their dominance throughout. Game two saw your Muskrats compete in a much tighter game led by starting pitcher Nicholas Timpanelli. Upper Valley built a 3-0 lead but a two run 6th inning home run by Matthew Overton pulled the score back to 3-2. Sadly, the Muskrats could not add to that tally and fell to a one-run loss. Last night, the Muskrats travelled down to North Adams (MA) to face the Steeplecats. Third Baseman Ben Kailher set the tone early for the Muskrats, with a leadoff home run to left field to give Winnipesaukee a 1-0 lead. North Adams responded with a run in the bottom of the second, as Winnipesaukee starter Drew Martin walked home a run with the bases full. From there, both teams’ bullpens settled down, as Scott Meylan tossed three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out three. The Muskrats retook the lead in the seventh, as center fielder Josh Rodriguez launched a solo home run to left center field. Sadly for your Muskrats, North Adams his a bases clearing double with two outs in the 8th which saw them take a 4-2 lead which they would not relinquish. Following Wednesday’s game, Winnipesaukee dip under .500 for the first time this season with a 2-3 record.
